This is a 2-day workshop. All classes run 9 – 4 pm each day with lunch included from 12 – 1 pm.
Join in on this deep dive into abstracting landscape using mixed media.
You will loosen up and bring your favourite landscapes to life with experimental tools and techniques. We will use a variety of materials including acrylics, inks, oil pastel and coloured markers. We will also explore unusual tools for paint application and mark making such as cards, brayers, squeegees, combs, feathers, twigs and textural materials. Students will also explore techniques such as resist, mono-printing, and collage.

Alison Watt is a painter and writer who lives on Protection Island near Nanaimo, BC. She works in water media, acrylic, and mixed media. Her subject material has evolved over the years from formal botanical watercolours, to acrylic still life, and abstracts.
