This is a 2-day workshop. All classes run 9 – 4 pm each day with lunch included from 12 – 1 pm.
Nature is the perfect starting point for creating imaginative artworks that combine fact with fiction.
During this weekend workshop you will be guided through a series of interesting drawing projects
designed to activate your imagination. Drawing projects will include using watercolour, ink and graphite
on paper.
This workshop will have a special focus on creating drawings inspired by coastal and intertidal
ecosystems, which are adjacent to Pearson College. While primarily studio based, this
workshop will also incorporate plein air sketching and some outside exploration.
Themes include pseudo-scientific drawing, observation, and using nature as a starting point for your
creativity to flourish. Additionally, you be introduced to fascinating artists from the past and present that
work in interesting ways and incorporate imaginative elements into their work.
Enjoy drawing without the pressure of making a “perfect” representation. Unlike some other forms of
art, drawing is portable, uses simple materials and has immediate results. Drawing is for everyone. If
you haven’t already fallen in love with drawing, you will during this workshop.
Price: $405
This price includes: tuition, daily lunch, material fees (if required), any applicable taxes and is listed in Canadian Dollars.
