Weekend One (2-day): June 27 - 28, 2020. Classes run 9 am – 4 pm daily and students are welcome to stay late in their studio.
In this wheel throwing course participants will start by throwing tall then flat and in between these, the bowl form. From there these simple forms will be pushed to address bigger, smaller, longer, thinner, and hollow. Exploration will include pots with appendages, multi-parts, textures, slip, and carving, and Vincent will show why he thinks your extruder can and should be a part of your pots.
PLEASE NOTE: Work made in this class will not be fired at MISSA.
Vincent Massey, a fourth generation artist, discovered his passion and flare for pottery at the early age of 15. He studied at the renowned West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham, England where he specialized in traditional English and Japanese methods of stoneware, including firing techniques of wood, salt and raku.Click here to read more about VINCENT MASSEY
