This is a 5-day workshop. All classes run 9 – 4 pm each day with lunch included from 12 – 1 pm.
Discover the freedom of creative expression in this transformative workshop designed for ceramic artists
ready to elevate their craft. “Underglaze Artistry- Confidence and Creativity on the Ceramic Surface”
combines hands-on exploration with thoughtful guidance to help you master underglaze techniques while
discovering your unique creative voice. You’ll explore practical skills alongside intuitive approaches,
building the confidence to design expressive, personal, and visually stunning ceramic surfaces. Whether
you’re refining your craft or seeking fresh inspiration, this workshop will give you the tools and confidence
to create with clarity and creativity.
For this workshop, students would bring their own pre-made pottery pieces so that they are ready to
decorate and can fully focus on the surface decoration application. A variety of forms in the greenware
stage or, if need be because of travel, bisque ware could also be used.
Price: $915
This price includes: tuition, daily lunch, material fees (if required), any applicable taxes and is listed in Canadian Dollars.
Ailsa Brown embarked on her art studies at the Chelsea School of Art in London, England where she found inspiration through firsthand exposure to the city's abundant museums and galleries. After completing her initial year abroad, she returned to Vancouver, BC, earning her diploma at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design, where she delved deeper into her passions for painting and ceramics.
