You will learn everything you need to know about painting with gouache in this botanical-themed workshop. Gouache (pronounced “gwash”) is a highly pigmented opaque water-based medium that dries to a smooth velvety finish. This workshop will make you fall in love with the beautiful surfaces you can create with this versatile and forgiving paint medium.
Each day will consist of a new project covering subjects such as botanical studies, tropical plant arrangements, Renaissance tapestries, Persian floral patterns and plein air painting. Examples of historical and contemporary artists who use flowers and plants in their work will be discussed in relation to each day’s project.
The workshop will include colour theory, making dynamic compositions, and developing endless ideas for future gouache projects. No experience is necessary.
Price: $870
This price includes: tuition, daily lunch, material fees (if required), any applicable taxes and is listed in Canadian Dollars.
