Would you like to teach to an inspiring group of adult art students? How about becoming an instructor at MISSA?
MISSA 2026 Summer Arts Program: July 18-31, 2026
Please note that the MISSA Summer Arts Program will be moving home to Pearson College in Metchosin in 2026.
In early fall, the MISSA Program Committee starts planning the Summer Arts Program and they need confirm instructors in time to be able to launch the full program on-line in January of the new year. As instructor contracts are signed, social media posts are made to help build excitement about this newly added summer workshop. We call them “sneak peeks” and they really help to stir up interest leading up to the program launch.
Teaching contracts are offered on a per-workshop basis and are not an assurance of year-to-year teaching. Workshop proposals must be submitted each year and are the first step needed in this process. If your proposal is accepted, you will be asked to complete a more detailed workshop form. It is suggested that instructors who are new to MISSA start with a two-day proposal, but depending on the complexity of the workshop and/or the distance needed to travel, an initial 5-day proposal is completely acceptable. Instructors receive an hourly teaching fee (6 hrs/day) and all meals and accommodations are covered while on campus. Economy travel is covered for out of town instructors and the reimbursement of supplies used for teaching are to be discussed ahead of time with MISSA.
