Selina Jorgensen is a Canadian artist living in Victoria, British Columbia. Working in a contemporary illustrative style, Selina practices traditional screen-printing techniques in addition to painting and drawing. She creates visual imagery reflective of natural environments. Her larger paintings feature screen-printed motifs combined with finer acrylic details and embellishments. Her works on paper often incorporate collage elements and patterns while employing a variety of layering techniques with versatile materials such as watercolour, gouache and acrylics.
Inspired by coastal surroundings, Selina’s imagery explores and celebrates an connection with nature through themes of collection, conservancy and personal symbolism.
Selina graduated from the University of Victoria (BFA, 2003) and completed a Diploma of Visual Arts at the Victoria College of Art (2000).
