Katie took her first etching class at Edinburgh Printmakers at the tender age of 15, and was hooked. She completed a BFA in Fine Art Printmaking from DJCA in Scotland before moving to Canada. She apprenticed at New Leaf Editions in Vancouver to become a Master Printer, and has printed for many renowned Canadian artists...
Katie has also worked as a Printmaking technician and has taught various print classes in Vancouver and Victoria. Her favourite thing about printmaking is the journey from an idea to the finished print; there are always surprises along the way.
