Ina-Griet Raatz-von Hirschhausen has a master’s degree in teaching (healthsciences and physical ed) and a degree in design (University of Osnabrueck, Germany). Since her immigration to Canada in1999 she lives and works as a fulltime artist, preferring a wide range of materials, painting, sculpting, making puppets along with medieval style scrolls and writing poetry. She had numerous successful solo and group exhibitions in Germany and Canada and has won several prizes for her artwork.
Besides working in the studio she now runs a small gallery out of her home in Qualicum Beach and teaches a variety of art classes. She likes to encourage her students to discover their magic individual, innate world of fantasy and to pass on that art plays a vital role in quality of life!
