ELISE WAGNER - Instructor at MISSA 2020

Elise Wagner has been a working artist in Oregon for nearly four decades. Wagner taught herself how to work with encaustic as an oil painter. She is a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant Recipient, was a 2022 recipient of the Artist Reliance Award and awarded grants from the Oregon Arts Commission, the Regional Arts and Culture Council and the Ford Family Foundation.

Wagner has presented at the Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, MA. She has taught and demonstrated encaustic painting and printmaking throughout the country including Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Truro Center for the Arts, R&F Handmade Paints and internationally in Mexico and Alberta, Victoria, Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

With three solo exhibitions in Seattle, New York and Astoria behind her, Wagner recently relocated to the Northern Oregon Coast. Her work is among private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. Wagner shows her work at galleries in Washington D.C., Seattle and where she now resides in Astoria, Oregon. In 2023, Wagner will make her way to the U.K. teaching classes at Essence of Mulranny in Ireland and at East London Printmakers.
