Barry is a full time working artist and fine art teacher who currently operates his own art school out of his studio at Saltair BC. Strasbourg-Thompson has been teaching art since 1980 in Ottawa, has retired from full time employment as an art instructor out of the Art Department at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre in Ottawa, taught art for the Ladysmith Arts Council, and TD Bank Nanaimo Arts Council, Art in the Schools, and with a Vancouver Island PaintNite.com 2023 contract.

Barry holds a BFA from the University of Ottawa, two diplomas from The Ontario College of Arts & Design University, A certificate from the Museum of Contemporary Art /Coursera, and currently studying Design: Form and Meaning at the California Institute of Design.
