Weekend Two (2-day): July 4-5, 2020. Classes run 9 am – 4 pm daily and students are welcome to stay late in their studio.
This hands-on class will focus on some fun techniques that can be used in making unique serving dishes and vessels. Students will play with making double walled vessels, rolled rims, thrown and altered forms, and adding lids, as well as discussing some practicalities of using pots for serving. Day Two will be spent on finishing and assembling some of the previous day’s work and learning some surface design techniques such as stamping and texturing, mishima, water etching and rice paper transfer design. These skills and techniques will help to bring some excitement to tableware and serving dishes!
