Week One (5-day): June 29 – July 3, 2020. Classes run 9 am – 4 pm daily and students are welcome to stay late in their studio.
This accessible workshop will provide a solid foundation for emerging artists wanting to navigate the gallery system, by exploring a range of exhibition opportunities including contemporary galleries, artist-run centres, festivals, open studios, artist in residence opportunities and pop-up exhibitions. Participants will be introduced to methods for developing exhibition proposals, curating their own exhibitions, writing artist statements, giving artist talks and writing grants in the visual arts through creative methods. No experience necessary; the workshop has been developed for visual artists who are interested in engaging with creative communities by getting their work out there into the world!
