July 15 - July 16

Sculptural Felting

Sculptural Felting

This is a 2-day workshop.  Classes run 9-4pm with lunch included.

Through imaginative processes, this workshop provides a playful approach to sculptural felting through needle felting processes.  Through collaborative and individual processes, participants will be introduced to a range of creative techniques for developing ideas and unique felted sculptures.

Skills that will be introduced through the workshop include the types of fiber, needle felting basics, armature building, wool-shaping, joining techniques, surface coverage and ornamentation, colour layering and mixing, linear work and felting around natural and man-man found objects.

Beginning with playful introductory works and moving on to more ambitious sculptural forms with guided support, the workshop is appropriate for beginners and those with more experience with felting processes. Wool is an inspiring material to sculpt with and the colours and techniques provide vast creative potential!

Material fee includes supplies provided by instructor.  See student supply list for further details.
