This is a 5-day workshop. Classes run 9-4pm with lunch included.
Poets respond to the world as they experience it: as a feast for the senses. In this five day workshop participants will spend a deliciously creative day on each sense – taste, touch, sight, sound… and vision of course, since we’ll be among the visual artists!
Each day the group will do close readings of some examples to see how other poets have approached these senses in their published works, and have an opportunity to try some writing exercises to discover creative biases and hone perceptions.
There will be time to think and discuss poems, and lots of time to write and review new work in a supportive and nurturing creative space. Poets will come away with a new appreciation for ways of enhancing the appeal of their writing by working with sensory elements.
Material fee includes supplies provided by instructor. See student supply list for further details.
