Wendy Morosoff Smith is a contemporary Canadian painter and printmaker whose work explores the spiritual aspect of her environment. Her luminous and richly textured images provide a new perspective to the landscape.
Wendy was born in Winnipeg and grew up in farming communities in Saskatchewan. She studied graphic design and worked as an award winning designer in advertising agencies across Canada. In 1990 Wendy studied printmaking at the Santa Reparata Institute in Florence, Italy and then furthered her studies at the Emily Carr University in Vancouver.
With over 30 years of printmaking experience she is a passionate advocate of the medium, teaching workshops and mentoring other artists. She now lives in Merville in the Comox Valley, painting and printmaking in her studio overlooking the Salish Sea.
Wendy’s artwork has been collected and exhibited extensively in Canada and abroad. Her pieces can be found in many private and public collections.
