JENNIFER LAWSON - Instructor at MISSA 2020

Born in Yorkshire, England and having studied and travelled extensively, Jennifer obtained two Honours Arts degrees from the University of Guelph and Georgian College. Jennifer received the scholarship for highest achievement and best student at the latter at Georgian College, before continuing to study at the Ontario College of Art and the Schneider School of Fine Art.

Her sense of colour is informed both by the warm tangle of English country gardens and the intricate patterns of Indian textiles. Jennifer paints solely in watercolour on pure rag paper. A plein air painter, her art reveals her as an optimist who is absorbed in the beauty around her.

Jennifer’s awards are numerous, and her paintings can be found in many private and corporate collections internationally. Jennifer was thrilled to be Bermuda’s Artist in Residence in 2013. She is the founder of the first Studio Tour outside of Ontario and is now part of the Cowichan Artisans Tour.
