CAROLINE FORDE - Instructor at MISSA 2020

Caroline Forde is a Canadian Textile Artist living and working in Toronto, Ontario. She studied Textile Design and Fine Art at Sheridan College (2015) and at the Alberta University of the Arts (2017). Her love for vintage fabrics and natural colours inspires her surface design process. In the studio, she creates hand-printed and dyed fabrics using a variety of traditional techniques. Through research and material exploration, Caroline aims to incorporate sustainability and craftsmanship into sensible, sought-after objects.

Her work has been shown through a number of group and solo exhibitions nationally and internationally. These include juried exhibitions held at the Ontario Craft Council, Mississauga Living Arts Center, The Alberta Craft Council, Simon Fraser University, Peters Valley School of Craft, The Banff Center, The Icelandic Textile Center, and the Prague Quadrennial. Alongside her studio practice, she has been instructing textile design workshops since 2015 to a wide range of audiences including artists, designers, and craftspeople.
